Central Colorado Industrial Hygiene (CCOIH) provides Comprehensive Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety & Health and Indoor Air Quality Consulting Services. It is staffed by its founder and Principal Consultant, Robert J. Kretvix, CIH. Mr. Kretvix has vast experience in comprehensive industrial hygiene services gained from 40 years of direct work and consulting experience in commercial & industrial, residential, construction, governmental, educational and medical institutions. At least 30 years of that experience was obtained as owner and principal consultant of multiple successful EH&S consulting firms serving the New Jersey, New York City and Philadelphia areas before CCOIH.
Mr. Kretvix possesses a wide range of expertise in the fields of industrial hygiene, workplace safety & health, radiation health physics, Hazmat emergency response, indoor air quality and building science, obtained from many years of management experience at a major Fortune 100 pharmaceutical operation and ownership of successful EH&S consulting practices. Particular areas of expertise include establishment of OSHA compliance & industrial hygiene programs, mold & indoor air quality (IAQ) evaluations, hazardous materials emergency response, hazardous waste operations health and safety, radiation health physics, SDS authoring, and control of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
As an ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) since 1985, Mr. Kretvix has designed and implemented countless industrial hygiene projects involving both traditional and specialized techniques over a broad range of situations in all types of industries and residential situations. He has evaluated, sampled and controlled active pharmaceutical / drug material, and conducted specialized indoor air quality evaluations, environmental testing and bioaerosol assessments, including for mold, bacteria, endotoxins and allergens, in air, water and on surfaces. Mr. Kretvix has been certified and is highly experienced in the diagnosis of building water/moisture intrusion problems and mold using advanced techniques, such as infrared thermography; often performing multiple mold and water damage inspections per week in humid and challenging environments, such as immediately following Hurricanes Irene and Sandy on the East Coast. He has also been certified as a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst and Envelope Professional for performing home energy audits, which supplements and broadens his indoor air quality expertise.
As a volunteer community Hazmat Responder and Officer for Hunterdon County, NJ for over 20 years, Mr. Kretvix was involved in emergency response activities at the World Trade Center immediately following the 9-11 incidents, including responses to potential anthrax contamination at multiple public and private facilities. He has received specialized hazmat training for Incident Command, Weapons of Mass Destruction and bioterrorist incidents. In addition to having an MS degree in radiation safety from Purdue University, Mr. Kretvix has also received advanced radiological response training to nuclear and radiological terrorist incidents at the Nevada National Security ("atomic bomb") Site. In fact he is even authorized through FEMA to offer the awareness level of the same course to other emergency responders.
Mr. Kretvix has been responsible for the development of many peer-reviewed occupational health & safety compliance programs, such as OSHA Hazard Communication Programs, HAZWOPER Health and Safety Plans (HASP), Confined Space Entry Programs, Integrated Emergency Response & RCRA Contingency Plans, NRC-approved Radiation Safety Programs, Lockout-Tagout Procedures, and Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plans. Mr. Kretvix has authored many hundreds of (M)SDSs for Fortune 500 company products since 1980, and has been a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)Registered Professional (Authorer) through AIHA. He has conducted numerous safety and industrial hygiene compliance inspections and Phase I environmental assessments of major manufacturing plants, government/ federal facilities and public agencies.
Finally, Mr. Kretvix is highly experienced in providing expert testimony and opinion in civil court cases regarding industrial hygiene and indoor air quality matters.
CCOIH primarily serves the Denver and Colorado Springs metro areas and surrounding locations. However, even though our name says Central Colorado, CCOIH is available for consultations in other areas and states to meet our customers' needs. Services are offered for both commercial and residential situations.
Last but not least, CCOIH believes in offering only high quality services using highly skilled and credentialed professionals. We answer all our calls and emails on a timely basis, usually same day; and we don't mind answering questions to help in our areas of expertise, even if its not likely to result in any work for us. Our customers and their welfare come first. You won't ever be charged until we have an agreement for services to be provided with an estimated cost. We don't mind getting our hands dirty, because that's the nature of some workplaces and jobs. We'll do what it takes to get the job done with a high degree of professionalism in the time frame we agree.
